A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased attacks on power infrastructure over the past few days, while officials has called for "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, Europe and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty missiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

The strikes come after evenings of air raids in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were preparing for additional strikes.
